Bringing Back the Taste of Home
Araw Araw was born from a deep love for authentic Filipino food and the memories that come with it. As a Filipino who spent years working abroad, I experienced firsthand how difficult it was to find real, home-cooked Filipino meals. Like many overseas workers, fast food often became part of daily life. Even while working as a Head Admin Officer for one of the leading catering companies, something was always missing—the comforting taste of the dishes we grew up with.
There were many restaurants that claimed to serve Filipino food, but the flavors were often different from what we remembered at home. The dishes lacked the warmth, richness, and authenticity of the meals prepared in our lola’s kitchen. It made me realize that Filipino food is more than just recipes—it is culture, memory, and family, all served on a single plate.
When I returned to the Philippines, I carried with me one clear mission: to help bring back the true taste of authentic Filipino cooking. At a time when European, American, and other Asian cuisines were becoming more popular, I chose to take on the challenge of preserving and promoting our own traditional dishes. I wanted to create a place where people could experience the same comforting flavors they remember from childhood.
That vision became Araw Araw. The name itself reflects our belief that good, honest Filipino food should be enjoyed every day. We focus on recipes inspired by our lolas—dishes prepared with care, patience, and respect for tradition. Every meal we serve is meant to feel familiar, comforting, and full of heart.
At Araw Araw, we are not just cooking food—we are preserving heritage. We honor the recipes passed down from generation to generation, protecting the authentic taste and the culture behind every dish. Whether it’s a simple everyday meal or a special celebration, our goal is to bring the flavors of home to your table.
Because for us, the best meals are not just delicious—they remind you of where you come from, who cooked for you, and the love that was always served with every bite.
